Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, known as Spurs, is a professional football club based in North London. Founded in 1882, the club is renowned for its tradition, history, and attacking style of play. Spurs currently compete in the Premier League and play their home matches at the modern Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which replaced White Hart Lane in 2019.

Tottenham have won eight FA Cups, with a notable win as the only non-league team in 1901, four League Cups, two top-division league titles (1951, 1961). They were also the first English club to win a European trophy (European Cup Winners’ Cup, 1963), and winners of the inaugural UEFA Cup in 1972. Spurs also claimed a historic “double” of League and FA Cup in the 1960–61 season.

Their emblem is a cockerel standing on a football; the club motto is “Audere est Facere” (“To Dare Is to Do”). Tottenham shares a fierce North London rivalry with Arsenal. Notable players include Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Gary Lineker, Gareth Bale, and Harry Kane.
