Tottenham bottle it again at Newcastle – Watch the highlights

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side have capitulated again.

After conceding an early goal at Newcastle, Harry Kane scored twice in four minutes to give them a lead that they held onto until the 85th minute when on-loan Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock popped up to equalise for the Magpies.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho was quick to blame the players.

“We work well, we work hard, but there are mistakes which I probably shouldn’t even call mistakes because they are related to qualities that players have,” he said after the game.

“It’s not just about the defensive mistakes that lead to goals. We have situations where we have the ball and I know already the ball is going to end with Hugo Lloris.

“That’s the way we sometimes create instability to ourselves.”

Despite dropping two points, Tottenham move up to fifth, above Liverpool and West Ham, but remain two points behind Chelsea who are in the final Champions League spot.
