Manchester United have made an improved £43m offer for 24-year-old Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez – £5m more than Arsenal‘s latest bid.
The 24-year-old has been nicknamed ‘The Argentine Butcher’ by Ajax fans because of his no-nonsense defending.
Since joining the Dutch club in 2019, Martinez has won two Eredivisie titles and the Dutch Cup under Erik ten Hag and United are hopeful their new boss can convince Ajax to let him go for a figure not far short of their asking price.
