The French press are reporting that Liverpool are surprisingly being added to the list of clubs linked with Kylian Mbappe.
As news breaks that the striker has decided to quit Monaco, L’Equipe are linking him with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and… Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp is apparently in close contact with the 18-year-old and there is an outside chance he could be convinced to opt for regular first team football at Anfield rather than a place on the bench at the Nou Camp.
While initially this may sound like a crazy rumour, Neymar’s imminent £200m move from Barca to PSG throws the cat amongst the pigeons. There is going to be a flood of cash going into the Catalan transfer kitty. They are likely going to increase their offer for Philippe Coutinho and if FSG decide they want to cash in then Klopp’s kitty will be boosted and suddenly a bid for Mbappe may become a reality.
Losing Coutinho would be devastating, but signing Mbappe would soften the blow.
