Crystal Palace Football Club is a professional football team based in Selhurst, South London, competing in the Premier League. Its official formation as a professional club dates to 1905, though it traces its roots back to 1861, making it one of the oldest football clubs still playing professional football in England. The club originally played at the Crystal Palace exhibition grounds before moving to Selhurst Park in 1924.

Over its history, Crystal Palace has mostly played in the top two tiers of English football. Its most successful league season came in 1990/91, finishing third in the top flight – a club record. Palace also reached the FA Cup final in 1990 and 2016, finishing as runners-up, but finally won the trophy in 2025.

The club has faced financial challenges, including periods of administration in 1999 and 2010, but has remained in the Premier League since returning in 2013.
