Everton Football Club, based in Liverpool, was founded in 1878 as St. Domingo’s FC before adopting its current name in 1879. A founder of the Football League in 1888 and the Premier League in 1992, Everton has played more top-flight games than any other English club and spent only four years out of the highest division.
The club boasts nine league titles, five FA Cups, and a European Cup Winners’ Cup (1985). Everton is renowned for its rivalry with Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby.
Their home since 1892 has been Goodison Park, one of the country’s first major football stadiums, but from the 2025/26 season they will play their games at the newly-built Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley-Moore dock.
