Arsenal’s relentless injury issues continue to dominate headlines, with the club having sustained 93 injuries since the start of last season—the second-highest total in the Premier League behind Brighton’s 97.
Manager Mikel Arteta, speaking ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge, admitted his side is in a “dangerous situation” but defended the medical staff and training regimen.
Arteta argued that the constant injuries to key players force an overload on others, creating a “dangerous circle” of fitness problems.
It’s also been confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has been added to their Champions League squad, replacing the injured 15-year-old Max Dowman.
If Arsenal are to seriously compete across multiple fronts this season and have a hope of winning the Premier League title, the training methods really need to be reviewed.
