Calvert-Lewin joins exclusive Leeds scoring club

Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become only the fourth player in the club’s history to score in five consecutive Premier League games.

Calvert-Lewin is enjoying a sensational revival at Leeds, with his brace in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace etching his name into the club’s history books.

The former Everton man has now scored in five consecutive Premier League matches, a feat previously achieved at Leeds only by Rod Wallace, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink, and Mark Viduka.

Since his arrival on a free transfer in the summer, Calvert-Lewin has become the focal point of Daniel Farke’s attack, helping the Whites move six points clear of the relegation zone.

His performance against Palace was particularly dominant, as he twice pounced on long throws from Ethan Ampadu to punish a weary Palace defense.

Farke spoke today about the striker’s transformation, suggesting that Calvert-Lewin is well on his way to becoming a true “Leeds United hero.”

The team’s form at Elland Road has been a major factor in their climb up the table, having scored three or more goals in three successive home matches for the first time since 2002.

While the club’s primary goal remains avoiding the drop, the clinical nature of Calvert-Lewin’s finishing has given fans hope of a mid-table finish or better.

With upcoming fixtures against Sunderland and Bournemouth, Leeds will be looking to their record-chasing striker to maintain his scoring streak and pull them further away from the bottom three.
