Liam Rosenior hopeful for Reece James and Cole Palmer return for Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior provided an optimistic injury update today as he prepares for his first Premier League home game.

The Blues are hoping to welcome back key duo Reece James and Cole Palmer for Saturday’s clash with Brentford.

Both players missed the midweek Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal as a precaution, but Rosenior confirmed they have returned to training at Cobham.

Their availability would be a massive boost for a Chelsea side that showed great spirit but lacked a clinical edge in their narrow 3-2 defeat to the Gunners.

However, the squad is currently dealing with a virus that has ruled out Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens.

Rosenior noted that several members of the coaching staff have also been affected, leading to strict protocols at the training ground to contain the spread.

Despite these health concerns, the manager remains positive about the tactical progress made by his group and expects a high-intensity performance in the upcoming West London Derby.
