Manchester United have reportedly reached a significant agreement with Casemiro to waive a contract clause that would have triggered an automatic one-year extension.
The Brazilian midfielder was set for a renewal if he started 35 Premier League matches this season, but both parties have agreed to remove this stipulation to facilitate his expected departure this summer.
Casemiro, who has enjoyed a resurgence under Michael Carrick, is currently being linked with moves to LA Galaxy and Inter Miami. In the recruitment department, United are reportedly monitoring João Félix, who has impressed in Saudi Arabia, as a potential attacking reinforcement.
The club is also facing a decision regarding Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Barcelona.
United have reportedly warned the Spanish giants that they will not accept a lowered fee for the forward, with Carrick said to be open to reintegrating Rashford into the squad if a permanent sale is not finalised by June.
