Burnley have announced that head coach Scott Parker has left his position by mutual consent on Thursday morning.
The decision follows the confirmation of the club’s relegation to the Championship after a difficult campaign that has seen them win only four of their 34 matches.
Burnley’s return to the second tier was sealed last week after a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Turf Moor, leaving the side in 19th place with just 20 points.
Parker had guided the club to promotion in 2025, but the team struggled to maintain their defensive prowess in the Premier League.
The club stated that Parker and the board held discussions following the confirmation of their demotion and agreed that a change in direction was necessary.
Parker reflected on his time at Turf Moor with pride, specifically citing the record breaking promotion season as an immense privilege.
Assistant coach Mike Jackson will take interim charge of the team for the final four games of the season, starting with a trip to Leeds United on Friday.
Burnley now face another rebuild as they prepare for life back in the Championship for the third time in five seasons.
