Gareth Bale insists that he wants to return to Real Madrid when his season-long loan at Tottenham ends, but the Spanish giants apparently don’t want him back.
The Welsh forward clearly had a plan that appeared to be on track, in his head at least.
“I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.
“Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.
“My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned.”
However, the latest rumours suggest that Real want to sell the 31-year-old this summer in the hope of getting a fee and reducing the wage bill by €700k per week before his contract expires next year.
