Brighton & Hove Albion Latest
Brighton & Hove Albion, nicknamed “the Seagulls,” is a professional football club based in East Sussex. Founded in 1901, the club competed in the Southern League before joining the Football League in 1920. For much of the 20th century, their home was the Goldstone Ground, but since 2011, they have played at Falmer Stadium, now known as the Amex Stadium.
The club’s major historical highlights include reaching the 1983 FA Cup final and playing top-flight football between 1979 and 1983. After financial struggles and even facing potential relegation from the Football League in the late 1990s, Brighton began a steady revival and, after years of rebuilding, earned promotion to the Premier League for the 2017–18 season.
Brighton achieved their highest-ever finish in the 2022/23 season, coming sixth in the Premier League and qualifying for European football for the first time.
