Chelsea eye Porto star Victor Froholdt as Enzo replacement

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring FC Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt as a potential replacement for vice captain Enzo Fernandez.

The Denmark international has impressed scouts with his performances in Portugal since joining from Copenhagen and is viewed by the Blues as an ideal fit for their midfield structure.

At just 20 years of age, Froholdt has shown maturity beyond his years, though securing his signature will not be an easy task for the London club.

Porto are known to be tough negotiators and are expected to hold out for a fee close to the player’s 85 million Euro release clause before considering a sale this summer.

The interest in Froholdt suggests that Chelsea are preparing for life without Fernandez, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months.

The Danish youngster provides a similar blend of technical ability and physical presence, making him a sought after commodity across Europe.

While other clubs are also said to be keeping tabs on his development, Chelsea’s need for a long term solution in the heart of their midfield could see them move early in the transfer window.

The recruitment team is focused on lowering the average age of the squad while maintaining a high level of quality, and Froholdt fits that profile perfectly as they plan for the 2026 to 2027 campaign.
