Crystal Palace break transfer record for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Crystal Palace have completed a sensational club-record deal to sign striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In one of the most significant moves of Deadline Day, the Eagles secured the Norwegian forward for a fee understood to be in the region of £48m.

Strand Larsen arrives at Selhurst Park to bolster an attack that has struggled for consistency throughout the first half of the season.

The deal was finalised late on Monday evening, providing manager Oliver Glasner with a physical presence to lead the line as Palace aim to climb into the top half of the table.

The arrival of Strand Larsen follows a busy window for Palace, who also secured the signature of Brennan Johnson from Tottenham.

The club’s hierarchy has moved aggressively to provide reinforcements after captain Marc Guehi departed for Manchester City earlier in the month.

Glasner praised the board’s ambition, stating that the new signings represent a major statement of intent for the South London club.

Fans are hopeful that Strand Larsen’s clinical finishing can help reverse a recent slide in form and provide a platform for a successful end to the campaign.
