First Coutinho, now Mané?

As Liverpool battle it out with Barcelona to hold onto their star man, Philippe Coutinho, Inter Milan look to be preparing a cheeky bid for Sadio Mané.

The Express is reporting that the Italian giants are set to make a £35m bid for the Senegalese winger.

After initial doubts from many Liverpool fans about the 25-year-old’s quality, Mané was a revelation when he joined the Reds from Southampton last summer. They balked at the £34m transfer fee at the time, but in hindsight it was a bargain for a player the club soon started to rely on for pace and creativity in attack.

A lot of blame for Liverpool’s dip in form in the New Year was put down to his absence for the African Cup of Nations and a knee injury in the final run-in left many biting their nails in the hope the Reds could hold onto a top six place.

An offer of £35m will be dismissed immediately, but its a clear indication of the awareness of Mané’s abilities across Europe and what to expect next summer if Liverpool don’t have a good season this time around.
