Martinelli issues public apology after “disgraceful” Conor Bradley incident

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has taken to social media to apologise for his actions during Thursday’s goalless draw against Liverpool.

In the closing few minutes of the match, Martinelli was seen manhandling an injured Conor Bradley, throwing the ball at him and attempting to push him off the pitch to expedite a restart.

The incident sparked a massive on-field brawl and drew heavy criticism from pundits, with Roy Keane labeling the Brazilian “a disgrace.”

Martinelli insisted he “really didn’t understand” the severity of the injury in the heat of the moment.

While the forward has faced calls for retrospective punishment, former referee Dermot Gallagher suggested a ban is unlikely as the official on the day handled the incident with a yellow card.
