Martinez Ruled Out for Forest Trip as Amorim Urges Patience

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that defender Lisandro Martinez will not be part of the squad for Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest, despite the Argentinian returning to first-team training this week.

Martinez has been sidelined for nearly nine months after sustaining a cruciate knee ligament injury back in February.

Amorim stressed caution, stating, “He wants to go to this one, he is not going to this one, he is going to take time.”

The manager is keen to integrate the influential defender slowly, though he praised Martinez for bringing a positive “edge” to every training session. United will also assess Harry Maguire, who is a doubt with a knock, leaving the defence relying on Leny Yoro who impressed in the last league outing.
