Norwich City Latest

Norwich City Football Club is a professional football team based in Norfolk, founded on 17 June 1902. Nicknamed “the Canaries” due to the region’s tradition of breeding canary birds, the club is known for its yellow and green kits. Since 1935, they have played at Carrow Road, their current stadium. Norwich has a historic rivalry with Ipswich Town, contesting the East Anglian Derby since 1902.

The club’s early years included spells in local and regional leagues before joining the Football League in 1920. After decades largely spent in lower divisions, Norwich achieved notable successes: winning the League Cup in 1962 and 1985, reaching multiple FA Cup semi-finals, and finishing third in the Premier League in 1992–93—their highest league finish to date. They are renowned for an impressive victory against Bayern Munich in the 1993–94 UEFA Cup.

Norwich is widely seen as a “yo-yo club” for frequently moving between England’s top two tiers. The club’s anthem, “On The Ball, City,” is the oldest football chant still sung today.
