Wolverhampton Wanderers have wasted no time in the search for a new head coach following the weekend dismissal of Vítor Pereira, with reports confirming today that former manager Gary O’Neil is already in talks for a stunning return.
O’Neil was sacked less than a year ago, but his work in guiding the club through a challenging 2023-24 season has not been forgotten.
Sources indicate initial discussions have been positive, placing O’Neil as the “clear favourite” over other contenders, including Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards.
Wolves, winless in 10 games and bottom of the table, are seeking a swift appointment to salvage their season.
