The short and turbulent reign of Igor Tudor at Tottenham Hotspur is over.
Following a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest that left Spurs just one point above the relegation zone, the club has agreed to a parting of ways by mutual consent.
The decision was accelerated by tragic personal circumstances, as Tudor was informed of the death of his father, Mario, shortly after the final whistle on Sunday.
Spurs are now desperately searching for a “firefighter” to secure their Premier League status for the remaining seven matches.
Former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as the primary target for the hierarchy, though former coach Chris Hughton and ex-Monaco boss Adi Hütter are also being discussed as viable short-term options.
With the threat of a first relegation since 1977 looming large, the board is expected to make a permanent appointment within the next 48 hours to give the new manager time to work with the squad during the break.
