Tottenham Hotspur’s difficult start to 2026 continued as they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Sunderland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Veteran defender Ben Davies opened the scoring in the 30th minute, reacting quickest to poke home after a corner.
Spurs dominated much of the first half but suffered a setback when Mohammed Kudus limped off with a muscle injury.
Sunderland gradually grew into the game and secured a point in the 80th minute through a spectacular “rocket” from Brian Brobbey, who found the top corner after a neat one-two with Enzo Le Fée.
The final whistle was met with boos from the home crowd as Thomas Frank’s side remains 13th in the table.
