West Bromwich Albion Football Club, commonly called West Brom or The Baggies, is a professional football team based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. Founded in 1878 by workers at George Salter’s Spring Works as West Bromwich Strollers, they adopted their current name in 1880. Since 1900, Albion have played home matches at The Hawthorns. The club was a founding member of the Football League in 1888 and has spent most of its history in the top two tiers of English football, with 82 seasons in the top division.

West Brom’s greatest achievements include winning the Football League First Division (top tier) title in 1919–20 and securing five FA Cup victories, most recently in 1968. The club also won the Football League Cup in 1966. Their longest unbroken spell in the top flight was between 1949 and 1973.

Known for their navy blue and white striped kits, Albion have strong rivalries with local clubs Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, contesting the Black Country derby with the latter.
