As Wales start their World Cup 2022 campaign, Gareth Bale dreams of playing in the World Cup finals.
The country has only ever qualified once, back in 1958, but Bale is hoping to change all that as they prepare to face the world number one Belgium on Wednesday night.
“It would be amazing to play for Wales in a World Cup – that is the dream for me,” said the Wales captain.
“We need to give it a really good go and give everything for the country.
“It might be the last time our generation has the chance to qualify for a World Cup.
“It is massive for us and we want to try and take this opportunity to qualify. We haven’t done that for a long time.”
Belgium haven’t lost a competitive home game in 11 years and the odds are stacked against the Welsh, but Bale remains hopeful.
“We know it’s going to be a difficult game against Belgium but we’re going to give everything on the pitch to get a result,” he added.
