Caicedo signs new deal with Brighton

Moises Caicedo has signed a new contract with Brighton and Hove Albion until 2027, with a club option for another year.

The 21-year-old Ecuador international midfielder was linked with a £70m move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, but the move fell through.

“This is fantastic news,” said Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi of the new contract. “For the club, our fans, for me and most importantly for Moises. It will make us stronger as we move forward towards our targets on the pitch.”

Despite the new contract, it looks like a move to ensure Brighton cash in at the end of the season and it is likely Caicedo will have a release clause to enable this.
