Could Gerrard replace Mourinho at Spurs?

The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has earmarked Steven Gerrard as the next manager, once Jose Mourinho is removed from office.

Mourinho’s time at Spurs is clearly coming to a close and the search for a successor has made its way north of the border.

Having cruised to the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers, Gerrard is attracting serious interest from Premier League clubs.

Many still think that he is being prepared to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, with the German’s current contract set to expire in 2022. That would make more sense for Gerrard, who will be more eager to return to his former club.
