Italy have moved above England in the FIFA world rankings, despite missing out on qualification for next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
The Italians move up one place to 14th while England drop three to 15th, despite cruising through their World Cup qualifying group.
The rest of the home nations fare no better. Wales drop five to 19th, Northern Ireland drop one to 24th and Scotland drop three to a lowly joint 32nd with the Republic of Ireland.
