Liverpool eye Brighton keeper Bart Verbruggen

Liverpool are looking at Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a possible long-term replacement for Alisson, Football Insider say.

The 24-year-old Netherlands international has been in superb form this season. He’s kept 11 clean sheets in 14 appearances in all competitions, which goes a long way to explaining the interest.

Liverpool aren’t on their own. Manchester United and Chelsea have both admired him for a long time, and Bayern Munich have been linked too. Real Madrid are keen as well, and the suggestion is he could be tempted to leave Brighton for them.

No fee has been mentioned so far.

Alisson isn’t going to be between the sticks forever, so Liverpool looking at keepers now makes sense. Verbruggen’s numbers are great, but 11 clean sheets in 14 is partly down to the lads in front of him as well. And if Real Madrid, Bayern and United are all circling, Brighton aren’t going to let him go cheap.
