Liverpool are prepared to pay over the odds to sign Naby Keita before the transfer window closes, rather than wait until the end of the season.
The Reds already have a deal in place to sign the Guinean midfielder in the summer, but are meeting RB Leipzig to discuss the possibility of getting him early, now that Philippe Coutinho has left for Barcelona.
According to the Liverpool Echo, “sources close to the player have indicated that Keita is keen to complete the transfer now rather than see out the rest of the season as planned with Leipzig. However, despite reports in Germany that the Bundesliga outfit have demanded an extra £13million.”
