Sturridge released by Perth Glory

Daniel Sturridge has been released by Australian side Perth Glory after yet another injury-hit campaign.

The former Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool forward started just one of the six games that he played and failed to score in any of them as the club finished bottom of the 12-team A-League with only four wins from 26 games.

It’s a big drop for Sturridge, who scored 67 goals in 160 games for Liverpool from 2013 to 2019. He also won 26 caps for England, scoring eight times.

It will be interesting to see who takes a punt on him this summer.
