Turkish delight for Liverpool assistant boss?

As Jurgen Klopp starts to clear his desk at Liverpool, it looks like assistant manager Pep Lijnders could be in line for a new job in Turkey.

According to James Pearce in The Athletic, ‘Besiktas are searching for a new head coach after sacking Fernando Santos earlier this month, and they rate the Dutchman highly.’

For a time Ljinders was the favourite to take over as interim boss at Anfield when Klopp leaves and he remains 4/1 to become the next permanent manager, although it now looks like the Reds have earmarked a couple of possible suitors.

The 41-year-old has also been linked with a possible move to Ajax, but it is unlikely any decision is made until a new manager is appointed at Anfield.
