Manchester City agree £65m deal for Antoine Semenyo

The January transfer window has its first blockbuster move as Antoine Semenyo prepares to leave Bournemouth for Man City.

Reports confirmed on Wednesday morning that the Ghanaian international forward has chosen City over interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. The deal, worth £65m, is subject only to a medical.

Semenyo has been in sparkling form this season, netting nine goals and five assists in 19 appearances. His arrival provides a much-needed boost for Pep Guardiola’s side, who currently trail Arsenal in the Premier League by six points.

With injury concerns surrounding the squad, the addition of the versatile 25-year-old is seen as a strategic move to reignite their title defence.
