Nottingham Forest ended a miserable home run in style on Saturday, beating Manchester City 3-1 at the City Ground with Liam Delap grabbing two of the goals, as Sky Sports report.
It had been almost six months, and roughly eight and a half hours of football, since Forest last scored at home. They hadn’t won there all season either. The wait ended in the sixth minute when Jair Cunha won the ball off Josko Gvardiol, ran through and finished with his left foot.
Delap made it two in the 18th minute after Xaver Schlager got to the ball ahead of Elliot Anderson in midfield. City had their moments, with Erling Haaland rounding Matz Sels around the 41st minute, only for Cunha to clear his shot off the line.
Rayan Cherki pulled one back early in the second half with a powerful strike in the 52nd minute. Ryan Yates then hit the bar in the 67th after his shot looped off Anderson, and six minutes later Forest put the game to bed. Morgan Gibbs-White released Delap on the break and his angled finish went into the top corner.
Oliver Glasner made two changes, with skipper Ryan Yates making his first start of the season. Owner Evangelos Marinakis watched on from the stands. Delap was named player of the match, and Yates was singled out for the intensity he brought against City.
The win lifts Forest out of the relegation zone. City have now lost three in a row after winning their first seven, a run no top-flight side had managed in 122 years. They stay six points behind Arsenal.

Three goals at home, against City of all teams, after six months of nothing. Forest needed that badly and it’ll do wonders for belief. Delap looks like a proper find, and having Yates back in the side clearly helped. City are the ones with the problem now. Three defeats on the spin after winning their first seven is a bad wobble, and Arsenal are already six points clear.
