Arsenal seize control of title race as Manchester City slip

Arsenal moved a significant step closer to their first league title in 22 years on Wednesday night, with a gritty 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bukayo Saka was the hero once again, scoring his 15th goal of the season in the ninth minute to secure a vital three points and a 14th clean sheet for the Gunners.

The result was made even sweeter for Mikel Arteta’s side as Manchester City were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest.

Despite twice taking the lead through Antoine Semenyo and Rodri, City were pegged back by a Morgan Gibbs-White backheel and a 76th-minute equaliser from Elliot Anderson.

Arsenal now sit seven points clear at the summit, though City still hold a game in hand and a looming head-to-head on 19 April.
