West Ham are on the verge of signing William Carvalho for approximately £35m.
After already having one bid rejected, Slaven Bilic is hopeful that an increased offer will secure the services of the 25-year-old midfielder. However, it appears that Sporting are holding out for £36m, according to Sunday Times sports journo Duncan Castles.

The Portuguese paper Diario de Noticias claim that West Ham have reached an agreement with the player to join the club, having spent time in Lisbon last week negotiating the transfer.
Meanwhile another Portuguese outlet, Renascença, claim that he is set for a medical imminently.
Having been well and truly beaten by Manchester United on their opening game of the Premier League season, Bilic will be keen to bolster his squad before the transfer window closes in two weeks time.
