Manchester United seal first summer signing with €45m Éderson deal

Manchester United have finalised their first major acquisition of the summer window, securing a contract agreement for Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Éderson.

The hard-tackling 26-year-old is set to arrive at Old Trafford to replace his departing compatriot, Casemiro, who is widely expected to seal a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

Éderson was left out of Brazil’s final 26-man World Cup roster, meaning he will have a full summer of rest to acclimatize to Michael Carrick’s tactical setup.

This is expected to be the first of up to three major midfield adjustments for United, who are also intensely pursuing youth talents Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson.
